چکیده
Proximal humerus fractures are the 3rd most common fragility fracture and with increasing aging population they becoming more common. While proximal in geriatric can be successfully treated nonoperative management, those that require surgical intervention challenging open reduction internal fixation result many complications. Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty has become increasingly popular for management of these frail patient population. With popularity reverse should arthroplasty, surgeons attempting this procedure. However, a notable learning curve associated devastating It is especially difficult to judge proper humeral height tension if you do not perform cases routinely. We present technique case series high-volume surgeon utilizing computed tomography template contralateral help guide who may performing cases.

Scapula fracture and os acromiale after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.
An 80-year-old woman underwent a right reverse total shoulder arthroplasty for cuff tear arthropathy with no complications. She was discharged 3 days after surgery with well-controlled pain. However, 6 days postoperatively, she reported the onset of excruciating pain in her right shoulder, and conventional radiographs, including an axillary radiograph, were obtained.

Alterations have been made over the years to the standard reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) prosthetic components in an effort to decrease adverse events; this has led to the advent of a short humeral stem prosthesis. To the authors' knowledge, there are no reports describing the complication of a traumatic periprosthetic Wright and Cofield classification type A fracture with use of a ...

Total shoulder arthroplasty and shoulder hemiarthroplasty have been the traditional method for treating a variety of shoulder conditions, including arthritis, cuff tear arthropathy, and some fracture types. However, these procedures did not provide consistently good results for patients with torn rotator cuffs. The development of the reverse prosthesis by Grammont in the late 20th century revol...

The results of anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty have previously been reported separately. Although the indications differ, scenarios exist in which a patient may have a total shoulder arthroplasty on 1 shoulder and a reverse shoulder arthroplasty on the contralateral shoulder.Between 1992 and 2009, twelve patients underwent bilateral sequential primary shou...
